Zero Ohm Arduino Workshops for Beginners

By: Zero Ohm Electronics

Want to get started with programming and hardware interaction? Zero Ohm is offering a unique workshop to get you started with Electronics using Arduino! With the Sparkfun Inventor's Kit you will get a kick start into the world of Microcontrollers and Embedded Electronics! The kit includes everything you need to make 15 circuits that will teach how to read sensors, display information on a screen, drive motors, and more. In this workshop you will learn how to setup your computer to program the Arduino for controlling lights, motors and much more. Unleash your inner inventor! You will also get the opportunity to see UAE’s first makerspace!

Level 2: Arduino with Sensors and Motors

Objectives and Workshop Sequence:

The workshop will consists of four tasks as the following:

  1. An introduction about sensors and motors, and an explanation of how to use their datasheets.
  2. An explanation about the first task, which is going to be switching on and off a Led depending on the light of the room.
  3. In the second task, the audience will learn about the temperature sensors, how to use it, and then they will program the Arduino to turn a LED ON and OFF depending on the room temperature.
  4. In the third task, the audience will learn about DC motor, how to use it, and then they program the Arduino to move the servomotor in different angles.
  5. In the last part of the workshop, the audience will combine task 2 and 3 circuits, such that the DC motor would move as a fan when the temperature is more than 30 degree, and switch off when it is less than 30 degree.
